Sunday kind of thoughts

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:04 pm by Administrator

had a lot of fun yesterday the Dreamspinner Author chat over at Love Romance’s Cafe. It was a real blast to read all the new excerpts and see all the new faces (so to speak). Unfortunately my chat time was interrupted by the neighborhood crisis (the stuntpunk who cracked his head open is fine, thanks for the emails asking – but apparently there really was a bit of skull cracked so it was rather interesting).

We were due to have company today and expecting them around noon or so, thus giving me plenty of time to shower and pick up the house and do company coming kind of things. At 7:30 a.m. (we were just thinking coffee thoughts)we received a call they were on their way. We waved goodbye an hour ago. I need a nap. LOL.

First I will finish answering the questions for an author interview I am doing and attempt not to contemplate what I need to do to get ready for the work week.

New Review – Drive Me Home

Posted in Reviews at 1:36 pm by Administrator

My thanks to fnord89 for this concise, yet quite complete take on Drive Me Home.

Eric doesn’t rate himself as a maker of good decisions – which is a pity as he is faced with a number of important ones. Redemption, new chances, old habits..

I enjoyed this – characters with the weight of past mistakes and facing new possibilities is a somehow uplifting theme.

I’m always tickled when I hear someone enjoyed a story, and especially pleased it was viewed as uplifting.

New Review – Drive Me Home

Posted in Reviews at 7:24 am by chrissymunder

I’m pleased to share the link to a very thoughtful and detailed review for Drive Me Home over at Well-Read.

If you want to read the story without any spoilers (?) you may not want to click the link.

Overall, I think what pleased me most about this review was her ending comment: “Even now, days later, I am still thinking about this book, reflecting on its themes of passivity and control; mulling over what it was about Eric that made me so cross; and thinking over the implications of the ending for the two men. For that reason alone I think this deserves a grade of ‘Very Good’.”

I don’t feel I can ask for more than someone spending time thinking about a story once they are done reading it.

Although I will say, this tickled me as well:

The slightly disorientating way of showing the point of view of the two men working under cover, the way that we never really know who they are until quite close to the end was rather chilling.

New Review – Third Times the Charm

Posted in Reviews at 11:43 am by Administrator

This collection of six short stories was a pleasure to read.

So begins a review of the Make Me A Match Volume I Anthology over at Lily’s I Love Books Blog.

She has something great to say about every one of the stories in the Anthology including this comment on Third Times the CharmThis was a sweet romantic little story!!
.
The review then finishes off with the following recommendation- To sum it up, I really enjoyed all six stories, something that doesn’t always happen when I read an anthology. I highly recommend it and am looking forward to reading Volume 2 soon.

I’m very pleased she enjoyed it and hope she finds Volume 2 lives up to her expectations.
