August Reflections and a Review of Fair Winds

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:47 pm by Administrator

I will cheerfully raise my hand, blink dazedly and say blankly – August?

Yes, another month approaches, and no matter how my fingernails dig in and try to hold on – August is blowing past.

But September is my friend. I love September and October. Fresh winds, fresh thoughts. My organizational skills peek up over the chaos that has been my June/July/August and give me fresh hope.

Wish me luck!!

In the meantime – I come bearing a new review for Fair Winds.

A few summer reviews

Posted in Reviews at 1:47 pm by Administrator

Here I thought June was going to be a busy month. *whew* Wait – someone tell me where July went, please?

How’s everyone doing? Enjoying the summer? Sailing? Reading? Reading about sailing? (how was that for a smooth and subtle plug for Fair Winds? ) Just having fun?

I’m always tickled to come across a review of some of my older shorts and A Halloween Tail is no exception. There’s a nice review up at Library Thing .

Also new is a review for Drive Me Home by Ley over at Joyfully Reviewed..

Today’s post brought to you by Godiva

Posted in Rambling, Real Live Blog at 7:03 am by chrissymunder

No, I really have nothing of any interest to share this morning. I’m just cooing delightedly over my 8-1/2″ x 11″ (oz, smounces, I’m a writer – I think in term of paper sizes) gold box of Godiva Chocolate. The dark chocolate assortment that a loving and very kind friend was good enough to have shipped to my door and surprise me with yesterday.

Per the note on the card “Stress Relief”.

I really love that woman. Many thanks HazelJean.

I don’t know which enthralled me more; the characters, the setting or the plot. Maybe it was the combination of all three and how well they danced together like the perfect Tango. I’m truly in love with this story, and hope Chrissy Munder won’t leave this incredible tale at just one book. I personally would love to gain more time with the crew of Devlin’s Due. This is a fantastic read should not be missed, and even those who get seasick from looking at a pool will find pleasure reading Fair Winds.

Reviewed by April at Fallen Angels Reviews: 4 Angels – You can’t go wrong with Fair Winds! Rudy Haas completely makes this story great. Even though Ike is the alpha-male type, with tall, dark, and silent down pat, Rudy still steals the show with his gentle nature and gritty drive to succeed at any cost.

Reviewed by Kassa at Rainbow Reviews: 31/2 stars – This is an entertaining and intriguing shorter novella with a real flair for atmosphere and sexual tension. While not wholly successful, the story does shine in the details and characters leaving you wanting more, especially with the hanging ending. The solid writing and descriptive prose bring the energy and excitement of sailing alive from repetitious drills to stormy rescues. Although there are several problems with the story, I enjoyed reading the book and hope there are more in the future.

The request for a continuation is a common one, and while I can’t say when it will happen Following Seas will be the title when next Rudy and boys come out to play.
